Radical environmentalist turned pro-Palestinian activist Greta Thunberg (X bio: Autistic climate justice activist born at 375 ppm) released a video from the ‘Freedom Flotilla’ on its way to Gaza.
Filmed at night and draped in a keffiyeh, Ms Thunberg declared:
‘My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel. I urge all my friends, family, and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.’
No kidnapping took place.
People were quite offended to hear ‘kidnapping’ tossed around so carelessly while Hamas negotiates hostage releases with coffins.
The vessel had been intercepted by Israel and its occupants escorted out of the way. Although credit to Ms Thunberg for inserting ‘comrades’ into her pitch. It helped highlight that radical environmentalism and the fetishisation of ‘oppressed’ Islamic states share a communist allure.
Greta Thunberg’s appearance on a token aid flotilla as a literal figurehead is not the first time climate alarmism and Islam have intersected.
Western youth movements routinely feature enviro-rebels waving Palestinian flags, shouting about rivers and seas as though they are saving waterways from plastic rather than alluding to the ethnic cleansing of Jews.
The consequence of a relentless ‘White Guilt’ philosophy is a communal act of cultural self-harm.
It has become cool to brag about fighting colonisation from colonial universities while political groups, often with ties to foreign money, conspire in the shadows to use the misguided children of the West as a means to steal their money, their future, and the land beneath their feet.
Land back! slogans at fusion rallies (catchphrase, From the river to the sea, always was always will be!) are a normalisation of a threat against private property. Communism hates private property. Colonials are guests. The land is stolen. Pay the rent. If you refuse, the government can redistribute it. This is playing out in South Africa as we speak. Australia has already merged welcome to country messaging into race-based national park lockouts, treaties, and tribal land acquisitions. We are on a path that leads away from equality.
Who will shout to save the West? Not Palestine.
There will be no solidarity for our children.
The goal of this activism is oppression. It is teaching children to be willing adherents to the veil of racial guilt. To cover themselves, sink away from their inheritance, and submit to the rule of the State which will treat them as property if they are obedient, and criminals if they object.
It is a terrible betrayal of the Enlightenment’s revelation about individual worth, the merit of action, personal responsibility, and the tabula rasa of birth as a citizen rather than a collection of identities.
Returning to environmentalism…
A casual observer might question why there isn’t more sceptisim from genuine environmentalists about the sudden arm-linking with Islamic regimes, given they tend to be rich oil states, wastelands of urbanisation, or proudly governed by individuals who slaughter every single Woke value imaginable.
Note to young activists, ‘shared oppression’ doesn’t mean civilisational compatibility.
When it comes to the climate caliphate, Europeans are enthusiastically giving their money away to the cause.
Fortunes were promised by the European Union even while seeking tax hikes to finance domestic defence programs against Russia.
The gross debt of the European Union sits at €14.54 trillion in 2025.
In May 2025, the EU supported the Middle East and North Africa in their ‘Green Transition’ with a promise of €300 million. In April, the EU announced a ‘new chapter’ of friendship between Europe and Central Asia with a €12 billion Global Gateway investment in raw materials, digital frameworks, energy, and climate protection. Earlier, in November of 2024, the European Union was trying to ‘salvage climate talks’ to secure $300 billion per year from Western nations, most of it taken from America, Britain, and Japan. There was a ‘draft deal’ seeking $1.3 trillion per year, drawing from the private sector. Developed countries scoffed at the first figure, demanding $500 billion because of ‘inflation’. At COP29, the EU promised $30.6 billion for vague climate funding. On and on it goes.
Apparently the Independent High Level Expert Group on Climate Finance believes developing countries, with the exclusion of China, should be outlaying $2.7 trillion every single year to meet 2030 climate targets. Their global yearly total for all nations is up to $6.7 trillion rising to $8.1 trillion per year by 2035.
Nowhere does climate technology appear to be ‘cheap’.
There is a lot of money being squeezed out of the taxpayer and Islamic regimes have their hands out.
When it comes to climate money, I certainly asked questions about the Taliban-led Afghanistan attending Cop29 as a guest of Azerbaijan. One commentator said, ‘[It was] very important for the human rights of Afghan girls and women that the Taliban go to Cop29 and that Afghanistan starts to regain access to climate financing.’
In November of that same year, the United Nations sought to ‘unlock climate financing’. Developed countries, which presumably includes Australia, have apparently agreed to finance ‘climate’ for at least $100 billion every year.
There are so many different sums, different promises, different organisations, different programs, different government departments, different grants, and different ways of describing ‘climate’ that it is almost impossible to know how much money is being taken from the Treasury.
Kabhul Now reported: ‘The Taliban-controlled National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) has stated that Afghanistan will need $20.6 billion in financial assistance by 2040 to address the worsening impacts of climate change.’
Remember, it is illegal to fund terror, but you can drop bags of money near a terrorist regime under the banner of ‘humanitarian assistance’ or ‘climate change’.
It is not clear if Hamas has any firm climate goals, but if you gave them solar panels and wind turbines they’d probably recycle them into terror tunnels and explosive devices.
There have even been calculations on the total carbon footprint of the war between Israel and Hamas, with Hamas being credited as the lesser of two climate evils.
In my view, we should be keeping a much closer eye on the relationship between Islam and Climate Change and how our young people are being used to cheer on the emptying of the Treasury.
We are in a financial crisis. That money belongs to our future.
Caliphates are dangerous, and the climate caliphate might be the most dangerous and expensive of them all.
